The City of Augusta is soliciting Requests for Proposals from qualified companies to remove nuisance items from the exterior property of an occupied single-family residence located at 781 W. Broadway Augusta, KS 67010.

The company will be required to remove, haul, and properly dispose of lumber, tires, metals, power tools, totes, junk, litter, and other items constituted as a nuisance.

The selected company shall be able to produce and maintain minimum liability insurance of $1,000,000 with the City of Augusta named as Additional Insured. Provide proof of insurance in the submittal.

In 2014, the Augusta City Council adopted the 2014 – 2018 Strategic Plan, which places a strong emphasis on improving the aesthetics of the community. The Inspection Division is responsible for identifying properties that are a nuisance to the public health, safety, and welfare, notifying the property owner of the conditions creating the nuisance violation, and allowing a reasonable amount of time for the owner to bring the property into compliance, pursuant to the terms of K.S.A. 12-1617e. Failure to bring the exterior property up to minimum property maintenance standards will result in a public hearing before the Augusta City Council which may result in forced removal of identified items. The City of Augusta is committed to local government excellence by introducing operational efficiencies that will have a positive impact on the community. The selected company will work closely with the Community Development Department – Inspection Division (Code Enforcement Officer), who administers the nuisance abatement process for the City of Augusta. After completion of the abatement, the company will invoice the City of Augusta. The company will be paid directly by the City of Augusta.
